Refund & Cancellation Policy
Layerium Labs guarantees manufacturing fidelity and transparent commercial terms. Because bespoke 3D printing commits raw polymers, resin chemistry, and machine hours, cancellation and return terms differ between custom on-demand CAD parts and store catalog products.
Bespoke 3D Printing Orders
Made-to-order manufacturing executed to client CAD geometry. Cancellation permitted prior to machine setup. In-house quality guarantee: free reprint if build fails internal QA before dispatch.
Ready-to-Order Catalog Items
Finished products purchased from the store catalog carry a 7-day return/replacement window if received damaged, defective, or incorrect. Prepaid return courier pickup covered 100% by Layerium Labs.
Dual-Track Operational Return Framework
Layerium Labs operates two distinct operational tracks: (1) Custom On-Demand Additive Manufacturing executed to bespoke customer CAD files, and (2) Curated Ready-to-Order Catalog Products available through our store.
Because bespoke manufacturing involves dedicated machine chamber run-time, irreversible thermal material deposition, and custom engineering slicing, consumer cancellation rights for custom CAD parts differ substantially from standard off-the-shelf goods under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
This policy articulates the exact rights, reprint criteria, and refund eligibility applicable to each operational category.
Custom CAD Orders: Cancellation Milestones
Before Slicing & Machine Preparation: Customers may request cancellation of an order prior to the commencement of machine scheduling and material preparation. If approved, refunds are processed subject to deduction of payment gateway processing fees where applicable.
After Production Commences: Once slicing parameters are locked, material canisters are dehumidified, and additive machine build chambers begin thermal initialization, cancellation is strictly not possible. At this stage, raw polymer/resin materials, electrical machine hours, and technician labor are irreversibly committed.
Bespoke Manufacturing Exemption: Custom parts manufactured to customer specifications cannot be returned or refunded simply due to change of mind, external project cancellation, or internal scheduling revisions.
Layerium Labs In-House QA & Zero-Cost Reprint Guarantee
Every component manufactured in our facility undergoes dimensional auditing and optical inspection prior to boxing. If a part fails our internal quality standards, suffers thermal warpage beyond nominal tolerance, or aborts during the build cycle, Layerium Labs automatically initiates a rebuild at zero additional cost to the customer.
This in-house reprint guarantee is an automated quality assurance safeguard executed prior to dispatch to ensure you receive parts that strictly adhere to process capabilities.
Clients are kept informed if an in-house rebuild introduces an operational delay to the estimated dispatch schedule.
Customer CAD Design & Dimensional Responsibility
Layerium Labs manufactures components with faithful adherence to the digital CAD geometry (STL/STEP) uploaded by the client. Layerium Labs cannot be held liable for part failure, functional mismatch, assembly interference, or structural weakness resulting from customer-side design deficiencies.
Design deficiencies include, but are not limited to: insufficient nominal wall thickness (<1.2mm for standard FDM), uncompensated snap-fit clearances, un-filleted high-stress concentration notches, and unsupported extreme overhangs.
Free DFM Review Offer: To mitigate design risks before production, Layerium Labs offers a complimentary Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) review on every customer’s first RFQ. Our engineers identify potential geometric weak spots and recommend parameter adjustments prior to machine commitment.
Additive Process Artifacts vs. Manufacturing Defects
Additive manufacturing produces distinct physical characteristics inherent to layer-wise fabrication. The following are standard process artifacts and do not constitute defective manufacturing:
• Visible layer striations and layer lines along the vertical build axis (Z-axis).
• Micro-pips, witness marks, or slight roughness at support structure contact interfaces.
• Minor dimensional variation within nominal additive process tolerances (±0.2mm or ±0.5%).
• Slight color or surface sheen variations between separate material masterbatches.
Genuine Defects: Issues such as inter-layer delamination (cracking), gross uncompensated thermal warping exceeding tolerances, severe under-extrusion voids, or manufacturing with an incorrect material grade are classified as genuine defects and qualify for immediate free reprint.
Store Catalog Products: 7-Day Return Window
For standard, non-bespoke finished products purchased directly from the Layerium Labs store catalog, customers may initiate a return or replacement request within seven (7) calendar days of doorstep delivery if the item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect.
100% Covered Return Shipping: Layerium Labs arranges prepaid reverse courier pickup via authorized courier partners for verified defective or damaged store products.
Resolution Options: Upon receipt and inspection of the returned store unit, customers may select either (a) an immediate express replacement unit, or (b) a 100% refund of the purchase price.
Damaged in Transit & Shortage Protocol
If an order arrives with transit damage or component shortage, the customer must submit a claim within forty-eight (48) hours of delivery.
Claim Submission: Email sales@layeriumlabs.com with clear photographic or video documentation illustrating (1) the exterior shipping carton with shipping label, (2) internal cushioning, and (3) damaged parts.
Upon validation, Layerium Labs will fast-track an expedited reprint through our priority queue.
Refund Disbursement Timelines & Settlement
Once a refund is formally approved by our finance desk, Layerium Labs initiates the refund within seven to fourteen (7–14) business days.
Refunds are disbursed strictly to the original payment source (bank account, UPI handle, or credit card via Razorpay).
Please note that individual bank settlement cycles and card network clearing hours are outside our direct control and may require an additional 2–5 business days to reflect on your statement.
Quality Review & Claim Escalations
If an order arrives damaged, exhibits dimensional failure against quoted tolerances, or requires quality arbitration, contact our technical support engineers with your order ID and inspection photos.
