FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Technical details regarding our additive manufacturing pipeline, quality checks, and commercial terms.

What CAD file formats do you accept for project enquiries?

We accept STEP/STP, STL, 3MF, OBJ, DXF, PDF, ZIP, up to 50 MB per file with access-controlled private storage. Native STEP and 3MF formats are recommended for optimal geometric fidelity.

What manufacturing tolerances do you achieve?

Standard achievable tolerance is ±0.2 mm (or ±0.2%) for industrial FDM and ±0.05 mm to ±0.1 mm for high-detail SLA photopolymer resin systems, evaluated during engineering review.

What is your typical turnaround time for prototypes and production?

Standard prototype orders ship within 3–5 business days after CAD file and engineering DFM approval. For urgent deadlines, contact us and we will confirm feasibility. Tracked domestic shipping across India takes 1–3 business days via express air courier, while international delivery takes 3–7 business days.

Does Layerium Labs sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to protect customer CAD files?

Yes. Layerium Labs signs bilateral Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) prior to CAD transmission upon request. All uploaded engineering drawings, 3D models, and proprietary CAD geometries are stored in access-controlled private storage, accessed exclusively by technical engineers, and never shared or used to train AI models.

Do you offer Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) advice before production?

Every custom submission receives an engineering DFM review by our technical team. We inspect wall thicknesses, unsupported overhangs, hole diameters, and build orientation before slicing.

How does Layerium Labs calculate 3D printing and prototyping costs?

Pricing is calculated transparently based on raw material volume (in cubic centimeters or grams), machine build time, bounding box dimensions, and selected post-processing steps. We provide clear, itemized quotes with no hidden tooling charges or mandatory setup fees before any manufacturing begins.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom parts?

Layerium Labs operates with a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of exactly 1 part. Hardware teams can order a single functional prototype for form-and-fit verification, or scale seamlessly to low-volume batches without investing in injection mold tooling.

Which countries and domestic regions does Layerium Labs ship to?

Standard prototype orders ship within 3–5 business days after CAD file and engineering DFM approval. For urgent deadlines, contact us and we will confirm feasibility. Tracked domestic shipping across India takes 1–3 business days via express air courier, while international delivery takes 3–7 business days via tracked express air courier partners.

Does Layerium Labs provide GST invoices and corporate purchase order (PO) support?

We issue itemised commercial invoices. Tax invoice and GST details are confirmed at quote. We also accept formal corporate purchase orders (POs) and international wire transfers with transparent billing documentation.
